Join dozens of schools already battling the boredom of daily school activities and other lame on-campus clubs. ComedySportz empowers students to learn about leadership, teamwork, and theater in a fun and exciting way. The league provides an extra-curricular program for students to practice improv, take workshops led by professional improvisers, and perform with teams from other schools all year long. The Northern California ComedySportz High School League has two locations, San Jose and Sacramento, that reach out to students wanting to learn how to be funny in a safe, non-threatning environment. Plus, all ComedySportz High School League teams keep 100% of the profits made through ticket sales, promotional materials, etc. making the ComedySportz Program an exceptional way to raise funds. ComedySportz is one of the few programs that can pay for itself year after year.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Once I send in my payment, then what?
A: Go ahead and book your first workshop. Once your payment is received, you will get an email confirmation for the workshop you booked.
Q: How far apart should we schedule our private workshops?
A: It's recommended that you schedule your private workshops about a month apart—enough time for your team to practice skills from the first workshop and short enough so they don't forget everything.
Q: When can we start attending the FREE monthly workshops at ComedySportz San Jose or ComedySportz Sacramento?
A: As soon as you register your team online, you can start attending FREE monthly workshops at either ComedySportz San Jose or ComedySportz Sacramento on the First Saturday of every month (October - May) from 10:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Q: Are the FREE monthly workshops fun?
A: Um...yeah!
Q: How do the private workshops work?
A: ComedySportz coaches will meet with your kids twice a year for an intense workshop experience. The workshops can be held at your school during the week, or at a ComedySportz theater during the weekend. The workshops are 6 hours in length and will prepare your team for the ComedySportz season. Workshops can be done during the week (preferably Fridays) matching your school's bell schedule allowing for an in-school field trip. Woo-Hoo!
Q: Do we have regular practices, besides the private workshops?
A: We recommend that schools have regular practices (once a week preferably) lead by the Team Captain(s) so students can practice skills, try new games, and plan activities. The team is in charge of running its own practices during the year, and may feel free to ask other teams or even their coaches for advice.
Q: What do we do after we've done our workshops?
A: Once you have completed your workshops, the best way to continue learning improv is to do it. Schedule shows at your school in the theater, black box, or drama room. If you are not allowed access to your school's facilities, then check the online schedule and offer to play in other school's ComedySportz shows.
Q: What is Team Snap and do I need to be a part of it?
A: www.TeamSnap.com is an online roster, calendar, and forum for team captains and administrators to communicate with each other and share ideas and show dates. It is a FREE service for team captains and administrators once they have registered their team online and paid their tuition. You will receive an email notification asking you to join. You don't need to be a part of it, but it is an excellent tool for everyone to have access to.
Q: Is it too late to join?
A: No, but it is better to register your team and take your workshops sooner than later. We will do workshops any time during the year. Whether you use the High School League as a money maker or just a way to teach improv to students, the High School League is always welcoming of new schools.
