Player Spotlight: Omar “Kareem” Abdullah

Posted on 18. Mar, 2011 by in Blog, CSz Culture

Omar grew up in Calcutta, India and moved to California in January 2006. During his time at Irvington High School, Omar was introduced to ComedySportz San Jose through his friend who needed help on a school project. They put together an improv show with the training of CSz veteran Scott Schroder. After graduating high school he travelled as a full-time tennis coach in Florida and India. Upon returning to the Bay Area he took more improv workshops and ended up being cast in the ComedySportz San Jose professional company.

Omar is currently a full-time student at Ohlone Collge and plans to major in Sports Management. When Omar first moved to California he had an Indian accent so in order to get rid of it he watched Scrubs and imitated Zach Braff.
